- What is the human flaw the writer is trying to ridicule (way more than just 1)? What type of person is he targeting?
- This was written in 1729! How might this go over today? Do we have any similar issues, problems?
- What does the writer specifically say and do to make this effective? Why would some people laugh at this while others might think it is a good idea?
- What is his THESIS?
- What is his most convincing argument?
- What is his most ridiculous argument?
Task #5 - Modern Satire Samples - In your Speaking & Listening S2 document, write down three of the biggest issues facing your generation, your peers and yourself.
Homework Tips - Find some evidence that your 3 issues worthy of satire are truly major problems your generation is facing.
