Due 1/30/20 by the start of class - Survival Rough Draft Thesis (4 points) Computers Needed Learning Target - I will learn how to write a clear thesis. Essay Prompt: Should people in life-or-death situations be held accountable for their actions? Task # 1 - Survival Essay Creative Process - We have made it to the end of our Survival unit and will begin our final writing assessment. We will be focusing on ALL the steps of the creative process. Make sure you document your work by making a copy of THIS. Task #2 - Thesis/Step #1 - Take a moment to type up your initial answer to our essay prompt on your copy of the Survival Essay Steps document. Make sure you understand the scale for thesis. Please copy the following scale and paste it to your Writing 2 document...that I want you to create right now. Thesis Statements - Creating an arguable, detailed, well-crafted thesis statement that fully answers the question or addresses the prompt.

You will actively read/listen to the story to find CDs that might help you shape your thesis. Task #4 - Harvesting & Brainstorming CDs - Your job for the rest of the week is to gather as many CDs that might help your make or shape a solid argument. You will need to find at least 10 from ANY source. However, you MUST use at least 3 sources that we have read as a class. M<ake sure you are putting all your CDs on your copy of the Survival Essay Steps doc. Homework Tips - Gather CDs and begin brainstorming. Consider the following questions.
Step #3 - Brainstorm what your quote says, proves or explains about your topic and why it matters to you. Step #4 - Write a 1 CD response that would persuade someone else that your topic should be important to them as well. Task # 2 - Skills Progression Final Prep - Today you will be finding 1 bit of evidence for several of our major 1st semester skills. Please follow along with the steps below.
