Learning Target - I will learn how to identify the topic of a text.
Unit #2 Essential Question: What does it take to survive? And, what makes it difficult to live? What does it even mean to survive? What responsibilities do we have for others? What is the most valuable strength to possess in a survival situation?
Task # 1 - Making Meaning of a Text- After seeing some struggles, I decided to give you all a bit of help. Review THIS document that has identified the topics of several sources and how they relate to our specific small group question. Please share any other insights you have on the sources not covered.
Helpful Tip: As you read, always try to identify the biggest internal and external conflicts. What topic, issue, flaw, “bad thing” must be overcome?
Task # 2 - Teamwork Makes the Dream Work - Continue reading, summarizing and identifying helpful ideas, CDs from your 4 sources.
“What is the greatest strength, or characteristic, to possess in a survival situation?”
Requirements - Open your Reading doc and take down notes for the following info.
- Each member must have a role and add their work to THIS shared document (Reader must make a copy and share it with the group).
- You must use at least 4 different sources (at least 1 nonfiction and 1 fiction)
- Every member must actively read (annotate) and keep a Reading Journal that identifies our key lit or rhetoric terms for each source.
- Every member must harvest obviously meaningful CDs from each source (2 minimum)
- Your final group outline must contain at least 8 CDs from your 4 sources.
