Task #1 - Music Monday - Today’s song will be your first challenge in making connections and generating ideas. Make a copy of the lyrics and use some method for digital annotations (mark the text). You will need to be able to answer the following questions.
- What are some possible conflicts for the narrator?
- What is his solution to these conflicts?
- What connections can you make to other characters or ideas we have discussed or you have read about before?
- Which line is the most confusing for you to understand?
- What is the theme of the song?
Innovating (4) = Strong and impactful use of skill
Applying (3) = Effective and accurate use of skill.
Developing (2.5) = Mostly accurate use of skill with small areas of improvement needed.
Developing (2) = Several areas of improvement but, a basic understanding of the skill.
Learning (1 to 1.75) = Major missing elements or lack of evidence for the skill.
Task #3 - EDU Issues Step #1 Revisited - Open your EDU Issues document and go back to Step #1 - The Idea: Read the Question, Have an Epiphany, Find a Solution. Tonight, take a moment to write 1 sentence that identifies your problem, explains why it is so detrimental to students and what can be done to resolve it.
Homework Tips - You will need to pack a great deal of info into this one sentence. Consider writing a few different versions that change the order of information you need to include.
Sample #1 - School districts should implement a morning and afternoon chocolate consumption program to decrease stress, increase energy, improve physical health and promote positive teacher student relationships.
Sample #2 - Student apathy is damaging our teens’ mental, emotional and physical health, but this can be overcome by distributing a healthy chocolate snack two times during the school day.
