Learning Target - I will learn how to paraphrase CDs from memory or personal experiences in order to make insightful CM.
Task #1 - Paraphrasing Notes - Some CDs do not need quotation marks. Try to apply the following CDs to our M&M discussion.
1. Personal experiences - Only use when asked to write or talk about your life or topics very relevant to your current situation.
2. Commonly know facts - If everybody knows that it is true just paraphrase it.
3. Current events - Did you see something on TV, hear it on the radio, read it on social media, are your parents talking about it at the dinner table? Paraphrase it.
4. Recall/memory - If you vaguely remember hearing or reading something, you can paraphrase, with qualification.
5. CDs that don't sound awesome - If you can remember facts from our books but don't recall the exact language just paraphrase it.
Task #2 - Stereotypes M&M - Please try to paraphrase your CDs to discuss the following prompt.
Many of the characters in Of Mice and Men come across as stereotypes or, at the very least, predictable in their behavior. Considering your own personal experiences and understanding of the world, why is it so easy to put labels on people and what makes so many of us act in stereotypical behavior?
