Was due 8/30 before the end of class - Reading Test (10 Imaginary Points)
Due 8/31 by the start of class - IBC CM Sentence
Due 9/1 by the start of class - IBC CD Sentence - Must be a direct quote
Learning Target - I will learn how to define the 4 skill levels.
Task #1 - Picture Day - We will be heading over as a class to the weight room - NOT to work out - to get your school picture taken.
Please be efficient when you are returning to class...we actually do have some tasks to get through.
Task #2 - IBC CM sentence - Before or when you return from pics, please stop by my desk and reintroduce yourself to me and read off your IBC CM sentence.
Keep in mind the following skill level descriptors. What level did you demonstrate in your 1 simple sentence?
- Distinguished - I am completely convinced that your topic is important, beautiful or cool.
- Solid - I believe that your topic is important, beautiful or cool to you.
- Basic - I have some questions as to whether or not your topic is important, beautiful or cool.
- Absent - Um, where is your sentence, dude?
Task #3 - IBC CD Sentence - When you look at your IBC CM, what is the reason your topic is important, beautiful or cool? Look at what you said after the “because”. It should be one word or a very short phrase or idea.
“I believe that reading fiction is important because it allows us to gain knowledge and understand the obstacles in life without having to personally experience heartache, suffering and loss.”
Homework Guidelines - Tonight, find a quote that describes the “why” in your IBC CM. Maybe do a simple Google search.
Make sure you actually introduce your quote. DO NOT simply copy the quote. Your sentence MUST contain your words as well.
